Empowering Every Child to Read and Rise – A Partnership with NABU

INDUSTRY: Edutech

DURATION: Q3 2022 – Date

Project Overview:

NABU, an international non-profit organization, originating from the US, is on a mission to combat illiteracy globally through its innovative mobile app ‘NABU’. The app provides free storybooks for children, available in both local and English languages. NABU’s campaigns span multiple countries, including the Philippines and Kenya. When NABU enlisted our services in the third quarter of 2022, they had less than 20,000 users in the Philippines and Kenya. Our goal was to increase brand awareness and drive active app users in both countries.

Objectives:

  • Boost brand awareness for NABU in the Philippines and Kenya.
  • Drive significant app downloads and active user engagement.
  • Implement targeted advertising strategies to maximize reach and impact.

Strategy:

To achieve these ambitious goals, we crafted a robust digital marketing strategy focused on highly targeted Google Ads app campaigns. Our approach included:

  • Comprehensive Audience Research: Understanding the demographics, interests, and online behavior of our target audiences—parents, educators, and children in both the Philippines and Kenya.
  • Localized Content Creation: Developing culturally relevant and engaging content in Filipino, Swahili, and English to ensure resonance with local audiences.
  • Precision Targeting: Executing a series of highly targeted Google Ads app campaigns, including:
    • Search Ads: Reaching parents and educators searching for educational resources and storybooks.
    • Display Ads: Featuring visually compelling banners on websites frequented by our target audiences.
    • Video Ads: Producing engaging video content that highlighted the app’s benefits and success stories.
    • Universal App Campaigns: Leveraging Google’s machine learning to optimize ad placements across their extensive network.
  • Continuous Optimization: Monitoring performance metrics and user engagement to refine and enhance our campaigns for optimal results.

Results:

Our strategic efforts delivered outstanding outcomes in both the Philippines and Kenya:

  • Philippines: From less than 8,000 users to 131,756 active users, with storybooks available in Filipino and English. NABU became a recognized name, trusted by parents and educators.
  • Kenya: Achieved 124,460 active users, with storybooks in Swahili and English. NABU’s brand presence grew significantly, becoming a go-to resource for quality educational content.

Conclusion:

This case study highlights the transformative power of strategic digital marketing in advancing educational initiatives. Our collaboration with NABU not only elevated their brand awareness in the Philippines and Kenya but also directly contributed to reducing illiteracy by providing accessible, high-quality storybooks to children.
